Till Kingdom Come

A prophecy told to second son, Prince Thrain Blackwater, many years ago is at last coming to fruition. Thrain hadn't truly believed the prophecy until recently when he met Prince Elias Trueheart during the intricate Spider's Web dance in the presence of his father, King Ungor and Elias's mother, Queen Alaina.

King Ungor sends eldest son Prince Baynor and Thrain to attack the Trueheart castle with orders to kill everyone. Thrain races through the castle to save Elias from certain death, to save their future together. Unfortunately, Thrain is forced to commit a heinous act upon Elias to save him from Baynor's brutality and a slit throat.

How will Elias ever forgive Thrain for the night his innocence was taken? Somehow Thrain must let go of the guilt as Elias must put the past to rest. Otherwise, their future and a prophecy for both kingdoms will never come true.

Prepare yourself for a dark and passionate tale in `Til Kingdom Come. Firmly set in medieval times, the characters are definitely a product of the period with their physicality, attitudes, and motivations. There is a warning here since non-consensual sex takes place. Although pivotal to the plotline, the forced sex still won't be accepted by some. Thrain is able to redeem himself and considering his upbringing, that's saying something while Elias manages to mature under the care of his lover. `Til Kingdom Come explores forgiveness, redemption, and the true power of love with a one, two punch.

Amazingly good , hot and thorough!

Okay,
I know I shouldn't write the review before I finish the book, but it is so good I had to. I'm almost done, but it's so good I slowed down because... yes you know... I don't want it to end.
So I paused and clicked to Amazon to see what other M/M books the author has available anticipating a heavy sense of loss, when I complete it.
Besides being nicely paced, hot and explicit in a sensible way... this book had me laughing in joy at some of the awkwardness expressed by the 2 characters trying to feel out each others true feelings.
The author has a real feel for the awkwardness and excitement of the beginning of a relationship. And the story details outside of the love story were captivating and well done, a real story... good length for the money, as well.
Well I'm going to go sample her other books... you, well you should purchase this one. : )

About the Author
Margaret Marshall Saunders was a Canadian author best known for her novel Beautiful Joe. Much of Saunders s work addressed social issues, including child labour, slum clearance, and animal cruelty. Active in local media, Saunders co-founded the Maritime branch of the Canadian Women s Press Club with Anne of Green Gables author Lucy Maud Montgomery, and was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1934. Other titles by Saunders include Tilda Jane: An Orphan In Search of a Home, The House of Armour, and The Girl from Vermont. Saunders died in 1947.

Very, very good but not perfect

Let me first state what I liked in this book:

(1.) The book exhaustively covers a very broad range of topics.
(2.) There are many worked example problems.
(3.) And best of all, the worked examples are highly detailed, not simple plug-in equations. These exercises really reinforced my understanding of each subject, and are the best I've ever seen.
(4.) The important machine types are contrasted effectively.

However, all is not perfect. I found the verbal discussions to be often less than illuminating and many of the derivations suffered from magical leaps of intuition. The subject is admittedly deep, but I was hoping that the authors would state things more clearly given their deep understanding of machines. OK, this is a quibble, but it is a distinction I make between being a 4* or 5* book.

You will learn a lot from this book, and really, I have not found a better one on the subject (and I have tried!).

No Gimmicks

Reading the title of this book might make you think that it is filled with black magic or voodoo. However, it is actually a collection of sound information and instruction that, when practiced, will help anyone to achieve their maximum height. It tells you which foods to eat, which yoga poses to do, and a bunch of other things to implement. I’m excited to try out some of the suggestions.

Lots of great info here!

Excellent book about growing taller. I didnt really know what to expect from this book but was pleasantly surprised by the contents.There is alot of information here not only about growing taller but what also retards one"s growth.I remember growing up and how some kids were very tall and some were not.This book gives a partial explanation to that.I think lack of sleep and cigarettes can be a big factor in reduced growth while vitamins can be very helpful to growth.All in all a very informative read!

Well, it's also pets... maybe pet lovers feel/know more.

This book poses questions for pet lovers and pet owners to think about: what am I to my pets and what/who are they to us? Erica Fudge throws various philosophical questions to the readers to reconsider human-pet relationshoips, pet identities and finally and most improtantly, human identities. With all the existential and relative issues, she explores what we mean by living with pets, thinking with pets and being with pets. Chapters 1-3 are rather thought-provoking in the way that readers are introduced to various literatures examining the subject matter along the line. However, there are also points when I feel that the author repeats herself too much and keeps skirting around. The most disappointing chapter is probably the last one, in which Fudge tries to put together recent scholarships on animals/pets by Derrida and Haraway. Because of the big names, I feel that the author is dominated (too dominated) by their theories and fail to incorporate their insights into her own discussion. In fact, she just discusses what they have discussed. So, Chapter 4 reads a like summary to me without limited original input.

All in all, it is still an interesting read and the subject is worth discussing. The further reading list and bibliography are very helpful as well.

From Pure Native to Managed

I read this book in 2009 and thought this was an excellent introduction to Microsoft C++/CLI. What is the benefit of C++/CLI? Basically, you can mix managed and native code together seamlessly. That gives you access to a huge base of technology from the 1970's to present. The second advantage is that the 3.5 version of this technology gives you compatibility with Microsoft Windows XP through Windows 8.

The downside is the seamless mixing of managed and native may not always have the right performance or professional support. Finally, there may be a far better supported and high performance option in Microsoft Windows 8 called Microsoft C++/CX.

Still, if you like C++/CX but need an option that is better suited to Microsoft Windows versions prior to Windows 8, then this book provides information on a technology set that could apply. I thought the description of the technology, the example code, and the thoroughness of the coverage was sufficient to allow most persons to use the technology. Even if, like me, your main programming language background is in Microsoft C#, you can still use the technology in pure managed mode quite successfully.

I have been programming C++ for years but I never worked in the .NET world but I needed to learn it for my latest assignment. This book was very well organized and I found it provided much useful information to help me with my transition. This book is not for beginners.

Highly Recommended

This is a very useful and the most complete C++/CLI book I read. Definitely much better than books like CLI in Action but not perfect, because the author is not a language designer like Stroustrup or Sutter.
One of the things I found very useful is the format of examples with printed output that really makes it very easy to understand order of execution, branching etc. If you are an experienced C++ programmer and need to learn how to write managed code you will not regret buying this book.

About the Author
Josh Juneau has been developing software since the mid-1990s. PL/SQL development and database programming was the focus of his career in the beginning, but as his skills developed, he began to use Java and later shifted to it as a primary base for his application development. Josh has worked with Java in the form of graphical user interface, web, and command-line programming for several years. During his tenure as a Java developer, he has worked with many frameworks such as JSF, EJB, and JBoss Seam. At the same time, Josh has extended his knowledge of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) by learning and developing applications with other JVM languages such as Jython and Groovy. His interest in learning new languages that run on the JVM led to his interest in Jython. Since 2006, Josh has been the editor and publisher for the Jython Monthly newsletter. In late 2008, he began a podcast dedicated to the Jython programming language.

Excellent Overview with Code Examples

Juneau accomplishes a rare objective in technical writing from my experience of 20 years: actually delivers on the title and more. The prose and code examples are concise, accurate, and on target. I am interested in every subject covered (with the possible exception of the last chapter on NetBeans - I use Eclipse Kepler, JBoss Developer 6.2, [also Eclipse], and IntelliJ IDEA 12), particularly the new asynchronous servlet 3.1 methods, Faces 2.2 enhancements, ORM/JPA 2.1, and EJB 3.2 business logic. This relatively short (200 pages) overview is packed with information and absolutely no fluff (nice change from most of the BS thrown on the market in the guise of technical literature). I read this book in a single sitting.

I highly recommend you be well-grounded in Java EE 6 prior to reading because the author makes numerous comparisons with the older codebase and these will be more enlightening and gratifying if you are familiar with it.
